WING COMMANDER KIRAN V

           Wing Commander Kiran V was commissioned as an Education Officer in Indian Air Force on 16 December 2007. He is a Professional Military Educationist and holds the distinction of being junior most CAT AYE officer of Education branch as on date. During his past 16 years of glorious service, the officer was posted to various operational bases and other major units of Indian Air Force. He had done three Instructional tenures which includes the prestigious Air Force Academy, Air Force Administrative College and Airmen Training School. He is a Post Graduate and holds his Master’s Degree in English Literature. The Officer had undergone Defence Services Technical Staff Course at Military Institute of Technology, Pune (MILIT) a tri- service course wherein he earned his second Master’s Degree in Military Technology. He was specially selected by the Directorate of Education for the Post Graduate Diploma in Education Planning and Administration course at the renowned National Institute of Education Planning and Administration, New Delhi (NIEPA). In addition to the above-mentioned educational qualifications, the officer also has Post Graduate Diploma in Education Management and Administration and Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling in Education to his credit. He is currently pursuing PhD in Educational Technology from Bharathiar University.

         Apart from being an academician, the Officer is also a keen Athlete and Sportsman. During his college days, the officer had represented Mahatma Gandhi University in Cricket and Baseball. Even after joining Air Force, he continued his passion for sports and games and represented Cricket for two Airforce Commands. He had also represented Badminton and Lawn Tennis for various Air Force bases. The Officer was the Lawn Tennis Champion while undergoing his Staff Course at MILIT.

         For his exceptional devotion to duty and professional acumen, Wg Cdr Kiran was awarded with Chief of Air Staff Commendation and Air Officer Commanding in Chief Commendation. Before assuming the present appointment, the officer was posted as Directing Staff at Airforce Administrative College.

             Wg Cdr Kiran is married to Simi Kiran who is also an Educationist by profession. She is presently working in Air Force School Coimbatore as PGT Commerce. They are blessed with twin boys Aaryan Kiran and Aarav Kiran both students of Class VIII in the academic session 2024-25.
